Cameron Diaz is back and better than ever! After nearly a decade away from acting, her new action-comedy Back in Action has taken Netflix by storm, racking up an incredible 46.8 million views in just four days since its January 17 release. That’s the equivalent of 88.9 million hours watched, making it the No. 1 English-language film on Netflix globally.
Directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), Back in Action also stars Jamie Foxx, who famously convinced Diaz to return to the screen. The film has reached the top spot in 85 countries, a feat unmatched since Extraction 2 in 2023.
The story follows two former CIA agents, played by Diaz and Foxx, who are forced into hiding after stealing a crucial system from a KGB agent. Juggling parenthood and dodging enemies, the pair deliver plenty of laughs, thrills, and heartwarming moments.
While critics gave the film a modest 26% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences have shown their love with a 62% score, proving once again that Diaz’s charm and star power are undeniable.
As if that’s not enough, Diaz’s 2010 hit Knight and Day, co-starring Tom Cruise, is also climbing Netflix’s charts, landing at No. 4 with 5.2 million views.
Diaz’s triumphant return has fans buzzing, and her films are resonating with viewers across the globe. It’s safe to say 2025 is shaping up to be her year!
