Sikandar vs Pushpa 2: Box Office Comparison – Salman Khan’s Film Trails Allu Arjun’s Record-Breaking Hit
Mumbai, India — Released on March 30, Salman Khan’s Sikandar has had a promising start at the box office, but it still has a long way to go before it can catch up to Pushpa 2: The Rule. Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 continues to dominate as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time with an incredible lifetime collection of ₹1,470.25 crore.
Here’s a breakdown of the day-wise box office earnings for both films:
Day 1:
-
Pushpa 2 earned an astonishing ₹196.4 crore on its opening day, along with ₹12.8 crore from special previews.
-
Sikandar, in comparison, made ₹30.06 crore (gross) on its first day.
Day 2:
-
Pushpa 2 maintained its stronghold by earning ₹112.1 crore on Day 2.
-
Sikandar earned ₹39.37 crore (gross) on its second day.
Two-Day Total:
-
Sikandar accumulated ₹69.43 crore in its first two days.
-
Pushpa 2 had a record-breaking two-day collection of ₹321.3 crore.
While Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to dominate the box office, Sikandar still has much ground to cover. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar features Rashmika Mandanna opposite Salman Khan, marking their first collaboration. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi.
Critics, however, have not been kind to Sikandar. In an NDTV review, Saibal Chatterjee gave the film just 2 out of 5 stars, calling it “an all-out assault on all things logical.”
Despite this, Sikandar continues to enjoy a decent run, though Pushpa 2 has set an incredibly high benchmark. Fans of both films will be eagerly watching the next phase of their box office journey.
