Jillian Michaels Slams Paris Olympics Drag Show for Religious Mockery

Jillian Michaels speaks out against Paris Olympics drag show mocking Christianity

Jillian Michaels, the renowned health and wellness expert, has publicly criticized the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony for featuring a drag show rendition of the Last Supper, which she believes mocked Christianity. In a recent sit-down interview with Page Six, the “Biggest Loser” alum emphasized that the LGBTQIA+ community needs “allies” and should avoid alienating other groups.

“It’s taking a lot of time and a lot of work to win people over, because what’s different is scary,” Michaels said. “So how do you best do that? By showing tolerance and treating people the way you want to be treated. So when you kind of go like this to 2 billion people around the planet, you can expect the same in return.”

Michaels, who recently launched her “Keeping It Real” podcast with Bill Maher’s Club Random Studios, argued that the controversial segment was not the right approach for achieving peaceful progress in a divided world. She stated that the depiction of the Last Supper in a drag show was inappropriate for the Olympics, which should focus on inclusion relevant to the Games rather than religious themes.

“I would have preferred something that had nothing to do with religion, just inclusion relevant to the Games. That’s where it’s appropriate, and it has nothing to do with drag queens,” Michaels explained, adding that she had no issue with drag queens but took exception to the religious aspect.

Michaels dismissed the counter-argument that the depiction was inspired by a 17th-century Dutch painting of the festival of Dionysus, calling it “Bulls–t.”

The Emmy-nominated TV personality contended that the "true liberal position" is to "live and let live," but felt that the controversial segment conveyed the opposite message.
