🎤 David Draiman & Marilyn Manson Draw Mixed Reactions at Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Show

Ozzy Osbourne’s monumental Back to the Beginning farewell concert on July 5 brought legends of rock and metal to Birmingham, but two appearances stood out for all the wrong reasons — David Draiman of Disturbed and *Marilyn Manson.

Draiman took the stage for supergroup-style covers of “Shot In The Dark” and “Sweet Leaf,” joined by industry veterans like Jake E. Lee, Mike Bordin, Adam Wakeman, and Scott Ian. However, his performance was met with boos and middle fingers from sections of the crowd, as reported by Birmingham Live.

The backlash stems not just from the performance itself, but from Draiman’s polarizing political stance. The vocalist has been publicly vocal in support of Israel amid the ongoing Gaza conflict, including a controversial visit in 2024 where he signed an artillery shell aimed at Hamas. Though he later stated he supports “peace and coexistence between all people,” the damage appears done for some fans.

Meanwhile, Marilyn Manson’s pre-recorded tribute to Ozzy also triggered criticism online. Still surrounded by ongoing legal issues and public outcry from over a dozen sexual assault and misconduct allegations, Manson’s surprise video caused a stir. His UK tour this fall is already facing protests, and one opening date was canceled due to backlash.

Despite the iconic music and emotional farewell, these appearances added a layer of controversy to what was meant to be a legendary send-off. Ozzy’s final show — a celebration of metal history — now also serves as a reflection of how public figures’ past and present actions deeply affect fan reception.
