After back-to-back powerhouse episodes featuring Shane Gillis and Lady Gaga, Saturday Night Live (SNL) is taking a brief hiatus. While Gaga stunned as both host and musical guest, proving once again why she dominates both the music and film industries, fans won’t be getting a new episode tonight.
No New SNL Episode Tonight – What to Watch Instead
Although SNL is off this week, NBC is airing a replay of the December 14, 2024 episode featuring the legendary Chris Rock as host. Just before Christmas, Rock delivered a monologue that had audiences in stitches, tackling everything from P-Diddy and Donald Trump to the Menendez brothers and Luigi Mangione.
Fans loved his sharp comedic take, with one viewer commenting,
“He literally summarized the whole year in 7 minutes, and it was consistently hilarious.”
Another suggested,
“SNL should invite a GOAT comedian to host the last show of the year as a tradition.”
Gracie Abrams Shines on the SNL Stage
The December episode also featured Gracie Abrams as the musical guest. Known for her collaborations with Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, Abrams performed “That’s So True” from her sophomore album The Secret of Us.
A longtime admirer of Swift, Abrams once passionately defended her mentor, saying,
“Please point me to one man who has come close to defining pop culture in this way. There is nothing! But people are not ready for that conversation.”
