Big news for K-pop fans! SBS's popular music show "Inkigayo" is set to take a break for three weeks. Here’s what you need to know:

Why the Hiatus?

The break is due to the 2024 SBS Paris Olympics and the Gayo Daejeon Summer coverage. The show won’t be airing on July 21, July 28, or August 4, as announced by SBS. This hiatus starts with the 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer event, which will be held at the INSPIRE Arena in Incheon on July 21.

SBS Announcement

SBS officially stated, “Due to coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and more, ‘Inkigayo’ will not air on July 21, July 28, or August 4. We ask for viewers’ generous understanding.” Fans can expect "Inkigayo" to return to its regular schedule after this period.

The Gayo Daejeon Summer Event

The SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer is a new event aiming to showcase the first half of 2024, featuring performances from various top artists. It will be hosted by former "Inkigayo" MCs: NCT’s Doyoung, IVE’s An Yu Jin, and TXT’s Yeonjun. Both An Yu Jin and Yeonjun are returning to host after co-hosting the 2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon.
