Glen Powell Confirms Role in 'Top Gun 3' – Details Revealed

Glen Powell confirms appearance in 'Top Gun 3' with Tom Cruise and Miles Teller

Hey movie buffs! Big news from Hollywood: Glen Powell has confirmed his role in the highly anticipated "Top Gun 3"! 🚀✈️

During a live interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Powell, appearing alongside his “Twisters” co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones, dropped the bombshell. When asked which project would come first—a continuation of “Normal People” or “Top Gun 3”—Powell confirmed the latter, saying, "I mean, I have a date," suggesting a start date is set. However, when pressed for more details, he firmly responded, “absolutely not.”

The buzz about “Top Gun 3” began in January, right before Powell’s appearance at the Sundance Film Festival for his film “Hit Man.” Paramount Pictures is reportedly full steam ahead with plans to reunite Powell with his “Top Gun: Maverick” co-stars Tom Cruise and Miles Teller. At Sundance, Powell teased Variety with, “There is going to be some fun stuff being announced soon…but it was confidential to me. I talk to [Joseph] Kosinski, Cruise, and Jerry [Bruckheimer] all the time. There is stuff happening and it sounds very exciting.”

Fans will remember Powell’s portrayal of Jake “Hangman” Seresin in “Top Gun: Maverick,” which soared to new heights, grossing $1.4 billion globally and becoming the 13th highest-grossing film of all time. According to Variety, Paramount has tapped “Top Gun: Maverick” co-writer Ehren Kruger to write the script for the sequel and hopes to bring back director Joseph Kosinski.

Beyond the “Top Gun” universe, Powell has been making waves in Hollywood with roles in the romantic-comedy “Anyone but You” and the disaster film “Twisters,” which recently debuted with a hefty $81.5 million at the domestic box office.
