Arnold Schwarzenegger Reunites with Kids at ‘FUBAR’ Premiere — But Son Joseph Baena is Left Out Again
The red carpet at the FUBAR Season 2 premiere was filled with familiar faces—except, once again, it highlighted a long-standing family divide.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, 77, was joined by all five of his children at the Los Angeles premiere of his Netflix action-comedy series. But it was the photo arrangement that stirred headlines: the former California governor posed for pictures in two separate groups—one with his four children from his marriage to Maria Shriver, and the other with his son Joseph Baena, whom he shares with former housekeeper Mildred Baena.
While Arnold looked happy in both sets of photos, fans quickly noticed that Joseph was not included in any group shots with his half-siblings: Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher Schwarzenegger. The same snub occurred during last year’s premiere of FUBAR Season 1, fueling ongoing speculation of strained ties within the family.
Katherine’s husband, actor Chris Pratt, was also present and joined the family group, creating a picture-perfect image—at least on the surface. Meanwhile, Joseph appeared later, walking the carpet separately and posing proudly alongside his father.
Despite the evident divide, Arnold made clear he values his relationship with Joseph. The actor has long embraced his youngest son, often praising him publicly. In fact, Joseph has been following in his dad’s footsteps, landing a role in the upcoming action film Gunner alongside Morgan Freeman and Luke Hemsworth.
In a March interview on Good Morning Britain, Joseph opened up about choosing to go by his mother’s surname, explaining, “I’m trying to do things on my own… It’s really important growing up as a man to figure it out for yourself.”
Back at the premiere, Arnold was in great spirits as he discussed the possibility of collaborating with son Patrick in the future. “If there’s a good script, you will, of course, think about that,” he told Extra. He even entertained the idea of working alongside his son-in-law, Chris Pratt.
But behind the glitz and talk of future projects, the absence of a unified family photo—especially with Joseph included—underscores a rift that remains unresolved. A 2023 Page Six insider hinted that Joseph’s half-siblings have not fully embraced him: “It’s a shame as he’s a really good kid… But for whatever reason, the other kids take [the affair] out on Joe.”
Maria Shriver, who finalized her divorce from Arnold in 2021 after 25 years of marriage, recently opened up about the painful aftermath of the scandal. In her memoir I Am Maria, she reflected on the heartbreak of learning about the affair amid the loss of both her parents. “I was unsure now of who I was, where I belonged… It was brutal,” she wrote.
Still, Arnold’s public support of Joseph remains steadfast. And Joseph, for his part, continues to rise as a young actor and fitness influencer determined to carve his own path—family drama or not.
Stay tuned for more updates from the red carpet and behind the scenes of FUBAR Season 2.
