WHARTON, Texas — The rodeo world is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Dylan Grant, a 24-year-old bull rider from Laramie, Wyoming, who passed away after sustaining critical injuries at the Wharton County Youth Fair Xtreme Bulls event in Texas.

The incident occurred during the second round of the event, where Grant was bucked off the bull mid-ride. According to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), medics rushed to his aid, quickly transporting him to an ambulance for stabilization before he was airlifted to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.


🎓 From College Rodeo Star to Rising Pro Bull Rider

Dylan's journey in professional rodeo began in 2018 when he first obtained his PRCA permit. After years of dedication and grit, he officially became a PRCA cardholder on February 14, 2024. Throughout his career, he competed in numerous PRORODEO and Xtreme Bulls events, showcasing immense talent and courage.

While still attending the University of Wyoming, Dylan shined as a standout member of the school's rodeo team. In 2021, he achieved one of his career’s most memorable moments—winning the bull riding title at the Mountain States Circuit Finals Rodeo (MSCFR). He scored a total of 169.5 points on two head, including an impressive 86.5-point ride on The Cervi Brothers’ Classic Equine “Bad Memory” in Round 3 at Loveland, Colorado.
