| Harry Potter star Nick Moran 'may never walk or talk again' after emergency operation |
Nick Moran, best known for his role as Scabior in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was rushed to the hospital for an emergency spinal operation following severe neck pain that turned out to be life-threatening.
The 54-year-old actor, who also starred in The Musketeer and Age of Kill, initially brushed off the pain, thinking it was a minor issue. But what started as a simple discomfort quickly escalated — forcing him into a critical medical situation.
Partner Urged Medical Attention After Neck Pain
According to Moran’s friend and fellow actor Terry Stone, Moran was experiencing ongoing neck pain, which he dismissed with a casual “I’ll put some deep heat on it.”
Thankfully, his partner insisted he seek medical attention. After a visit to the doctor, he was immediately referred to A&E, where doctors discovered the true severity of his condition.
“We need to take you in for an emergency operation because this is life-threatening,” doctors told Moran, according to Stone’s statement to MailOnline.
Spinal Surgery and ICU Recovery
The emergency procedure took place swiftly. Moran faced the chilling possibility of never walking again, but the surgery was successful. Though he was left weak and in the ICU, Stone shared some hopeful news:
“He’s shuffling around like a 100-year-old,” said Stone. “He still needs your support, prayers, and love. Let’s pray he fully recovers and is back to normal soon.”

Moran’s representative confirmed the surgery and offered a reassuring update:
“Nick had urgent spinal surgery over a week ago, which carries the usual risks of such procedures. All went well – he is now back home on his way to a full recovery after a short stay in hospital.”
