Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has ignited a firestorm of controversy after using a Super Bowl ad to direct fans to his website, where he is selling T-shirts emblazoned with a swastika.
The white tees, priced at $20, appeared as the only items for sale on Yeezy.com as of Monday morning. The design includes a black swastika with the label “HH-01,” which has been linked to Nazi symbolism.
Although the Super Bowl ad didn’t mention the shirts, it featured Ye in a dentist’s chair, saying he had spent all his money on new teeth and shot the ad on his iPhone before telling viewers to visit his website.
The move has drawn widespread condemnation, with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) calling the shirt sales further proof of Ye’s antisemitism. His X (formerly Twitter) account, where he had recently posted antisemitic messages, has also been deactivated.
This controversy contradicts Ye’s own words just days before, when he stated he would never sell swastika shirts for fear of harm to fans. Yet, the shirts appeared online over the weekend, fueling backlash and raising concerns about the rapper’s ongoing rhetoric.
