Imagine meeting your favorite actor at Comic Con. It’s a dream come true, right? But what happens when the excitement turns uncomfortable? That’s exactly what The Boys star Valorie Curry recently experienced, and she’s speaking out about it!
Curry, who plays the fiery Firecracker on the hit show The Boys, took to Instagram after an awkward encounter with a fan at Comic Con Northern Ireland. The fan asked her to replicate some extreme behaviors from her character, crossing a line Curry wasn’t comfortable with.
In her story, Curry shared, “We need to talk about boundaries and what is appropriate in terms of behavior. I don’t care if you’re in costume or in character. It’s not okay and it’s not funny to demand those things from me in person.”
While most fans were respectful, this particular encounter left Curry feeling unsettled. Despite her saying no, the fan and his friend didn’t back down, and things only got more awkward. “I made it pretty clear that it wasn’t okay, and that only seemed to make this person and their friend angry,” she explained.
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of meeting someone famous, especially when they play a larger-than-life character like Firecracker. But, as Curry pointed out, there’s a big difference between a TV role and the real person behind it. Actors are human too, and they deserve to feel safe and respected.

Valorie Curry’s message is clear: Respect boundaries, even when you’re meeting someone you admire. Just because a character does something outrageous on screen doesn’t mean it’s okay to ask the actor to do the same in real life.
