In a tragic turn of events, actress Noor Malabika Das, known for her role alongside Kajol in the 2023 legal drama 'The Trial,' was found dead in her Andheri apartment in Mumbai. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

The discovery was made after neighbors complained of a foul smell coming from her house on June 8. The police were notified and subsequently recovered her decomposed body from her home in the Oshiwara area.

Originally from Assam, Das had a diverse career, having worked as an air hostess before making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. She appeared in several web shows and had garnered a significant following.

The Mumbai Oshiwara Police have filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are conducting further investigations. The body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association has expressed deep concern over the increasing number of suicides in the Bollywood and Indian film industry. The Association has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough investigation into Das's death. They emphasized the need to explore potential foul play and consider the possibility of murder.

"This unfortunate incident underscores a serious issue within the Bollywood and broader Indian film industry," the Association stated. "Reports of suicides among actors and actresses are alarmingly frequent. The government must investigate the underlying causes behind these recurring tragedies."

Noor Malabika Das's death is a stark reminder of the pressures and challenges faced by those in the entertainment industry. As investigations continue, her fans and colleagues mourn the loss of a talented and vibrant actress.
