Love was in the air on May 12 as actress Maria Bello and Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn tied the knot in a "bohemian, chic" wedding at the stunning Montage Los Cabos in Mexico. Surrounded by 140 family members and close friends, including notable celebrities like Patricia Arquette, Mariska Hargitay, Gavin Rossdale, and Vanessa Getty, the couple celebrated their love in style.
A Dreamy Location
Mexico holds a special place in the hearts of Bello and Crenn, who spent a significant amount of time there during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Montage Los Cabos, with its breathtaking views and serene ambiance, was the perfect venue for their nuptials. "We consider Mexico our home away from home," the couple shared, explaining their choice of location.
Stylish Attire
Both brides dazzled in Dior for their big day. Bello looked radiant in a vibrant pink long-sleeved gown from Dior’s Frida Kahlo collection, accessorized with an intricate silver belt and a butterfly-detailed necklace. Crenn, the only female chef in America with three Michelin stars, opted for a chic custom white vest and pants ensemble. The couple's wedding looks were curated with the help of celebrity stylist Jessica Paster, hair stylist Philip Carreon, and makeup artist Luis Casco.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was a heartfelt affair. Crenn made her entrance first, walking alongside her 10-year-old twin daughters and her mother-in-law to the tune of Prince’s "Kiss." Bello followed, accompanied by her mother and her 23-year-old son, Jackson, to Burna Boy's "Time Flies." The ceremony concluded with the joyous sounds of Whitney Houston’s "I Wanna Dance with Somebody."
A Joyous Reception
The newlyweds made a grand entrance at their reception, dancing through the tables to greet their guests. Bello and Crenn’s engagement was announced in February 2020 at Elton John’s annual Oscars party, following a romantic proposal in Paris in December 2019. Reflecting on their relationship, Bello shared with Entertainment Tonight, “We’re pretty happy, considering that we just got engaged. It was very surprising and meant to be, but about time. I’ve finally grown up enough to get married.”
The couple's journey to the altar wasn’t without its challenges. Crenn’s breast cancer diagnosis early in their relationship tested their bond, but ultimately brought them closer. "Dom and I have been through the three C's: cancer, Covid, and now commitment," Bello revealed.
Embracing New Commitments
As they embark on this new chapter, Bello reflected on the evolution of relationships with age. “When you’re young, you’re crazy about each other, it’s passionate. By the time you’re 50, it’s more about companionship and shared experiences,” she told PEOPLE. “My biggest commitment is to my son, but now this new commitment is a conscious walking into the second half of life with someone who’s really f---ing rad.”
